Sony a9 II “eats the stars” camera noticeably smaller than its predecessors

Did the manufacturer take criticism into account?

As you know, in early October, Sony introduced the a9 II camera, which is aimed at professional photographers and combines the features of its predecessor and the a7R IV model.

With all the advantages of the a7R IV model, it also has disadvantages. One of them is not -switched noise reduction, inherited from the a7R III model and limiting the use of these cameras in astrophotography. The high-speed noise reduction algorithm does not distinguish the image of stars from noise and as a result “eats stars”.

Jim Kasson, who previously determined that the algorithm is enabled in a7R IV at shutter speeds of 3.2 s or more, and in Sony a7R III - at shutter speeds of 4 s or more, he tested the Sony a9 II camera.
